In addition to my usual social stomping grounds, there a several places in the healthcare communications space where you can find me socially. I started several healthcare social media communications groups over time and I am the group manager of these groups. These groups are great for networking and I encourage you to join them and get involved.
|The Healthcare Social Media Networkers group on LinkedIn:
This group is comprised of healthcare social media mavens, enthusiasts, and novices who want to learn more. Members come from healthcare marketing, PR, and communications backgrounds and must be truly engaged in the social media space in some way, shape, or form (either personally or on behalf of the company they work for).
|The PRSA Health Academy & Friends group on LinkedIn:
This group is comprised of healthcare public relations & communications professionals spanning from pharma companies, hospitals and health systems, to government health agencies. This is a fairly large group (close to 1,000 members) that I started back in Spring of 2008. It’s great for networking and my PRSA Health Academy colleagues and I post a number of different events and PRSA happenings on it. If you’re a member or friend of the PRSA Health Academy, or a healthcare PR pro interested in networking and want to learn more – then this group is for you.
|The Healthcare PR/Communications Jobs & Networking group on Facebook:
This group is all about linking healthcare communications/public relations professionals with networking opportunities to find healthcare communications/public relations jobs (either full time or contract work). This group is for those looking to network with healthcare comm/PR pros, or for those looking for a healthcare comm/PR job. Members of the group can list resources on the “wall” and post their profile to the “discussion” area. I created this group right at the beginning of the down economy so everyone could bond together and help one another. Another great way to network, and feel free to pass it on to anyone else who can benefit.
|The Healthcare PR Jobs (@HlthcarePRjobs) group on Twitter:
I started this presence and stream to help connect healthcare PR/communications pros with executive recruiters (and vice versa) and to share job opportunities as followers learn of them. This service can keep everyone informed of open positions.
